What is the IELTS Test Structure and how 

much time will it take?

This is 4 modules in IELTS

1.Listening  - 4 sections, (30 minutes + 10 minutes as transfer time)
It will include 4 sections and 10 sections in each section, then there are total 10 X 4 = 40 questions.    

The first 2 sections will be in need of social need, the interaction between the 2 Speaker will be and 
then there will be monologue.
There will be different types of questions such as short answer questions, multiple choice questions, 
sentence completion, charts, table completion, notes, classification, labeling diagram, matching etc.

After listening to the Candidate recording only once, he will have to answer the question he has heard. 
At the end, 10 minutes are given to the answer sheet in the answer sheet.


2.Reading 3 sections, (60 minutes)
There are 3 passages in it, and these 3 passages will have 40 questions.
It has academic reading and general training reading module, and these two are different.
The passage given in Academic Reading will be taken from Magazines, Books, Journals and 
Newspaper, while General training reading will be given from leaflets, Notices, Manuals, Books and 
Magazines and Newspapers.

There will be different types of questions, such as short answer questions, multiple choice questions, 
labeling diagram, notes-charts-table completion, sentence, completion, matching, classification, 
identification of writers views, select phrases for a paragraph. The answer sheet will have to be written
 within 60 minutes to write the answer, no additional time will be given for the transferring answer in the
 answering sheet.

3.Writing – 2 tasks,(60 minutes)

There will be three tasks in it, in Task 1, the candidate has to write at least 150 words, and at least 250
 words will be written in Task 2.
Here you are suggested to spend 20 minutes in task 1 and spend 40 minutes in task 2.
Task 1 will have more marks than Task 2. Academic writing and General training writing are both 
different.
Academic writing
In Task 1, the Candidate will be given the figure or some data (table, chart or graph), which will have to
 describe the candidate in his language, here's the candidate's present and compare information ability, 
describing the steps of a process, how and Even event takes place, 1 understanding of the object or
 event, etc. will be assessed.
In Task 2, the candidate will have to present some points of view, scenario or a problem, arguments,
 problem solving, presenting the opinion of the opinion, comparison and contrast to evidence and 
opinion, challenge ideas and evaluate, etc. 250 words)
General training writing

In Task 1, the candidate has to answer the situation, scenario and problem letter given in the letter, 
answer requirements, wishes, factual information, complaints, likes and dislikes, personal 
correspondence etc. in the letter.
In Task 2 the candidates will have to present logic, problem or scenario, solution to problem, propose
 opinion, compare evidence and opinion, and contrast, evaluate and challenging ideas, etc. Some 
points should be present. (At least 250 words)

4.Speaking – 3 parts,(11-14 minutes)
There are 3 parts here.
Part 1
Applicant and Examiner will present themselves, Candidates will answer some basic inquiries like 
your family, interests, leisure activity, garments, study, PC and web, the purpose behind giving 
IELTS exams, and so on. This part remains 4 or 5 minutes.
Part 2
The subject card will be given in it, and it will be 1 minute for the candidate to speak on the subject, after
 which the candidate will have to speak 1 to 2 minutes on this topic.
Part 3
Here the subject and topic of part 2 will be a general discussion between the candidates and examiner 
 of related questions, this part is 4 or 5 minutes
Test total time will be 2 hours and 45 minutes, Listening, Reading and Writing test will be done at once 
and the Speaking test will be taken 7 days or 7 days before the test.

1.Academic Test
This test is taken for the Candidate. The person who wishes to take admission in the University or
 Institute for Higher Education in the Foreign Language (English Speaking Countries)

2.General Training Test
This test is taken for Candidate who wants to go abroad for Work, Experience, Professional Experience.
There is no uncertainty in which test you can sit in the Academic Test or General Training Test, you 
can get counsel from the nearby IELTS Office or the Student Adviser, both in test weight and not i 
 exchange for both. In 4 part Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
